bio

Jessica Carmody (she/her) is a contemporary artist living and working in the Tulmer (Ipswich) and Meanjin (Brisbane) regions of Australia. Using installation, moving-image, and performance her practice investigates memory, corporeal and incorporeal traces, and domestic archives by examining personal and social feminist constructs of gender and the home. Jessica is currently undertaking a Doctor of Philosophy (Creative Arts) degree at the Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane researching depictions of the ‘haunted home’ and the spectral in contemporary women’s art.
